Plot of the movie and its story

The plot summary describes a horror film centered around the events of a deadly Black Friday sale at a superstore called RightMart in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Jessica Wright, along with her friends and boyfriend, sneaks into the store early, triggering a stampede that results in multiple deaths. One year later, as the town prepares for another Black Friday sale, a figure wearing a John Carver mask begins targeting and gruesomely killing those involved in the previous year's riot.

As the killings escalate, Jessica aids the investigation by providing footage of the riot to the sheriff. However, her friends are abducted one by one, and it's revealed that the killer, known as Carver, is seeking revenge for the negligent acts that led to the deaths during the Black Friday incident.

During a Thanksgiving parade, Carver abducts Jessica and her family, intending to cook them alive. However, Jessica manages to escape with the help of her boyfriend, Bobby, and confronts the killer, who is revealed to be Sheriff Newlon. Newlon had been having an affair with one of the victims and sought revenge for her death.

In a final confrontation, Jessica uses a musket to cause an explosion that engulfs Newlon, seemingly killing him. However, Jessica is left traumatized by the events and has a nightmare suggesting that Newlon may still be alive.

Releasing date of the movie

In March 2023, TriStar Pictures acquired the US rights to the film. "Thanksgiving" premiered in the US on November 17, 2023, and in India as "Bloody Thanksgiving." It hit digital platforms on December 19, 2023, followed by Blu-ray and DVD releases on January 30, 2024. The movie started streaming on Netflix on February 17, 2024.
