Apparently that may not have been quite enough aging for Young Sheldon

Despite the premature death of Chuck Lorre’s Young Sheldon (the show) on CBS, Young Sheldon (the character) will continue to grow with yet another spinoff in talks to eventually land on the network. Take that, ageism!

But wait, wouldn’t a spinoff of Young Sheldon just be Old Sheldon, a.k.a. The Big Bang Theory? Wrong. Although this thing has got to come back around and eat its own tale at some point, right? Right?

We’re not getting Young Sheldon: The Teenage Years either, although he’ll likely make some appearances. According to Variety, the new spinoff will actually focus on Sheldon’s older brother Georgie (Montana Jordan) and his fiancé Mandy (Emily Osment) as they navigate the world of parenthood (Mandy gave birth during season 6) and age-gap relationships. Georgie was canonically only 17 when he met and began a relationship with the 29-year-old Mandy, but it’s okay because they both lied about their ages, apparently? It seems like Young Sheldon maybe should have been called Young Georgie instead... Just an idea.
